Sometimes in life we do all our best to change certain things about ourselves which were unhealthy to us, both physically and mentally, but again we find ourselves slipping back to the same old bad habits we’re fighting so hard to change. Why does this happen? Is there something wrong with us?
Although setbacks are part of the learning process to becoming better at what we want to achieve, some of them are not good for us, especially the ones caused by the people around us. I’m sure you have been through situations where a friend or even a family member kept on blabbing and complaining about something right?All they know how to do is criticise and spread negative energy to others. There are some things you dislike without any apparent reason right? Why? Because somebody associated with you doesn’t like it, and they make sure you know by never keeping quiet about how much they hate it. Now this is where accountability comes in, and it’s the first thing we need in order to save ourselves from the garbage people carry around trying to pass them around to others.
So, being accountable to yourself is the most effective way to deal with negativity of others. It’s upto you to decide whether you’ll let them destroy your life or not, you have a choice. If what a person is saying is tempting you towards pessimism, tell them to stop or ignore them. But the most suitable way it to tell them to stop being so pessimistic around other people. Do not allow the negativity of others to stop you from achieving your goals and becoming the person you were meant to be! And if you happen to feel like you are a pessimistic person I’d recommend that you find something good and beautiful about something/someone you dislike, and channel all your energy into that particular image. It may be what that person did/does, how smartly dressed they are, how a certain vitamin in a drink/ fruit helps others, e.t.c.
